Institution-Grade Market Analytics
for Everyone

Are you ready?

I'm so ready.

About Us

FlowFowl is the brain child of one market-fixated data scientist who finally got access to some reasonably affordable data feeds. Then he started spending amounts of time pouring over them that most people would probably consider unhealthy.

Our mission is to bring more transparency to the markets, and allow everyone access to institutional grade analysis tools and indicators. Our initial focus is primarly unusual options activity detection in combination with other charting and analysis tools.

This is great, tell me more!

Stats

People are in discord servers with access to the FlowFowl*

Individual Options Contracts were monitored for trades today*

Monthly Community Pledges towards the FlowFowl project*

Exchanges ingested from in real time via SIPs

*These numbers are averages, as the FlowFowl is still constrained to a docker container on the developer's computer, and this website doesn't interface with it.

*The monthly community pledges are not hooked up to Stripe right now. Once we get our first donation and I launch the site I will remedy this.

Roadmap

This section outlines the FlowFowl growth and development roadmap.

In each of these sections, the principal cost is the data feeds. As we ingest more data, we must pay for more data. In each section there is 10-20% rounded up on top of that, and that cost is principally earmarked as the growth fund. One area that we will need to address specifically in growth is data storage. Due to the amount of data generated by the markets, we are estimating that we will need to build an on-premise server, as cloud hosting for the principal database could quickly spiral out of hand, and if we can't ramp up fast enough, could cause the project to shut down.

Planned features are just that, planned. They are not guaranteed and may change. Additionally, these are not all of the indicators we have planned and will be exploring more as growth continues.

The FlowFowl icon denotes which stage we are currently in.

FlowFowl Icon indicating we are at the Initial Launch Stage

Initial Launch

Pledges Needed:
$100/month

Delay:
15 minutes

This covers a development, 15-minute delayed license for our primary options datafeed, and a little bit extra for hosting and overhead.

At this stage, we will be able to provide Level 1 and 1.1 indicators, such as:

  • Trade Size (in Dollars)
    • ex: "Trade value was > $250,000"
  • Open Interest
    • ex: "This position was a guaranteed open due to size being > open interest"
  • Days to Expiration
    • ex: "This position expires in less than 30 days"

Realtime Launch

Pledges Needed:
$250/month

Delay:
None

This allows us to upgrade to a larger development license with both realtime data and access to bid/ask data, and a little bit extra for hosting and overhead.

At this stage, we will be able to begin providing Level 2 indicators, such as:

  • Bid x Ask
    • ex: "This position was made at bid / at ask / between bid & ask"

Additionally, notably, this will move us from a 15 minute delay to a realtime feed.

Equities Markets Launch

Pledges Needed:
$500/month

Delay:
None

This allows us to purchase an equities and dark pools license with realtime data, and a little extra for hosting and overhead.

At this stage, we will be able to begin providing Level 3 indicators, such as:

  • Underlying Price
    • ex: "This position anticipates the underlying moving by x% before the expiration date"
  • Underlying Activity*
    • ex: "Dark Pool and unusual equities activity detected recently around the time the trade was flagged"

* It should be noted that analyzing underlying equity activity is a significant development undertaking. Depending on development needs at this point, this feature may be postponed, although we will have access to the data to be able to build it.

BirdBrain Launch

Pledges Needed:
$???/month

Delay:
Minimal

The fourth step (and probably fifth and sixth), we will be at a stage between community funding and commercialization. We have a lot of plans for this stage, but the most important thing to note is that there will be significant development time involved, and significant additional hosting costs.

Some of our focuses at this stage will be:

  • Continued Indicator Growth
    • We will be continuing to grow the number of indicators available to the FlowFowl and utilizing community feedback to continually improve our base layer.
  • Community Growth & Public Access
    • This is the critical component of this stage, and we will be investing a lot of time and money into growing the community further. This will be required for the second intiative in this stage.
  • FlowFowl BirdBrain
    • This is the codename we have given the AI intelligence aspect of FlowFowl. In essence, we will be building in methods for the community to provide feedback directly in-stream on the different indicators that FlowFowl gives.
    • Due to anticipated community growth at this stage, we hope to be able to pipe that feedback back into our database, and through an AI that FlowFowl can use to improve detection capabilities.

* At this point, the system will be getting quite large, and ensuring no delay will become increasingly complex before we reach commercial scale and resources.

Commercialization

Pledges Needed:
$10,000+/month

Delay:
None

This will be the final ongoing stage of FlowFowl. At this point we will have enough community support to functionally transition into a fully commercialized service.

We need your help to get here, and we need your help on thinking of how to reward our early supporters once we do get here.

Because the community is so important to us, we will do our best to maintain a free version of FlowFowl, we just aren't sure what our data and licensing agreements are going to look like at this point.
